In an exciting recognition of outstanding achievement, four Aboriginal students from Rutherford Technology High School have recently been announced as recipients of the 2008 Two Ways Together Aboriginal Student Youth Excellence Scholarships.    The Two Ways Together program is a NSW Government’s 10 year plan to improve the wellbeing of Aboriginal people and communities by focusing on issues such as education, families and young people.
Each student will receive $1000 to support them in their continued education and to encourage their participation in vocational education & training courses
Justin King – Year 9, Jasmine Day – Year 10, Hannah McDonald – Year 10, and Michael Waters – Year 11, will receive their awards in front of their fellow students as part of the School Assembly being held on Monday 12th May 2008, 10.40 am – 11.00 am.
The scholarships recognize academic achievement and are designed to encourage continued efforts in Senior School years.. 
Principal Paul Tracey says “We have a dynamic Aboriginal Education Team at Rutherford Technology High School that is keen to encourage Aboriginal students to achieve at the highest level”.  “These scholarships are well deserved, reinforcing to students that hard work brings results”.  “We are delighted that four of our students have received these scholarships and look forward to supporting them as they continue their education at Rutherford Technology  High School”.
