RUTHERFORD STUDENTS WIN WRITING COMPETITION

Rutherford Technology High School  Year 8 students scooped the pool at a Youth Week Short Story Writing Competition organised by  LEAF (Linking Empowering Adolescents & Families) Reconnect based at Kurri, taking out 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.   Students were asked to write on a topic related to Youth Issues.
Winning students will be presented with their awards at the  Awards Ceremony  being held at Maitland Art Gallery on Tuesday 8 April 08 from 6.00 pm – 8.30 pm.
Principal Paul Tracey says “Considerable emphasis is placed on literacy skills at Rutherford Technology High School.   We are delighted when our students gain recognition in this type of competition”.  “We encourage all our students to develop their writing skills at all stages of their schooling”.
