Year 12 students at Rutherford Technology High School now have an area dedicated for their use where they can use their free periods to study, prepare assessment tasks, and concentrate on preparing for the HSC. The school has invested in the creation of a senior study area –including computers, and a kitchen area. This is located in a peaceful area of the school where students can retreat, undisturbed by the many activities going on throughout the day. Also on hand is a dedicated staff member who is available to help Year 12 with their studies and provide necessary assistance.
Principal Paul Tracey says “The Senior Study Area has been set up to help lower the stress levels in our senior students as they prepare for their HSC”. “By creating a dedicated area away from the rest of the school we are recognising that our senior students have specific study needs, which have been addressed by providing them with an area that they can call their own”.
