In an exciting addition to the school staffing, Rutherford Technology High School is one of only 25 schools in NSW selected to appoint a Transition Adviser. This is a new role within the school, created to improve links to further education, training and employment for secondary students.
Linda Poolman brings a wealth of experience to the role, having completed a Bachelor Commerce in 2004 and worked as an Accountant prior to completing a Diploma of Education in 2005.
Linda was appointed to the role of Transition Adviser following a special four day training course in Sydney. She will be working with the school’s Careers Adviser, Paul Hindmarsh, as part of a school based career and transition team.
Linda has been given the task of developing a rapport with groups of students identified as having particular needs, including those who want further advice and support about career pathways, disengaged teenagers, and students who are experiencing difficulties with the transition from school to the workplace.
