Rutherford Technology High School Year 12 Student Daniel Hoffman was presented with the prestigious Pierre de Coubertin Award for all round sportsmanship at the annual Awards Ceremony held at the State Sports Centre in Sydney on Friday 23.6.06.
The awards, which are named after the founder of the modern Olympics Baron Pierre de Coubertin, recognise school students who have led by example, who display true sportsmanship and who help others.
They were established by the Department of Education and Training in conjunction with the Australian Olympic Committee as part of the Sydney 2000 Olympic bid.
 
Daniel's award reflected excellence in Rugby League, Cricket, Lawn Bowls and Athletics – demonstrating exemplary sportsmanship and true leadership qualities at all times.
